Team Leading and Management

These qualifications are available to those looking to enhance their professional development and improve their skills in Team Leading and Management roles within a company or organisation.

Available at a range of different levels, these courses start at Level 2 (aimed at Team Leaders and Supervisors) and moving through Levels 3 (aimed at those in middle and more senior Management roles), finishing with Level 5 (for experienced senior managers).

We offer qualifications through two different assessment routes that enable students to enhance their knowledge and understanding of this subject area through the Levels list below.

Level 2 Qualifications

These qualifications are aimed at those working in Team Leader and Supervisor roles within any company, or those aspiring to become more involved in People Management.

 

Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading

This qualification is an ideal starting point for those interested in becoming a Team Leader or Supervisor in the workplace. Learners will complete 3 mandatory units which cover a number of elements essential to the role, including:

  • The Role of Team Leader in the business.
  • Methods of Managing yourself and your team
  • Planning and development for your team
  • Communication
  • Managing Conflicts.

This programme follows Assessment Route 1 and Learners will submit question and answer style assignments to complete it.

Level 2 Diploma in Team Leading

This qualification is ideal for those just starting in the role of a Team Leader or Supervisor, as this is an Assessment Route 2 programme, learners will need to be in a relevant workplace role. This programme will require the learner to complete 5 mandatory units and a number of optional choices. The 5 mandatory units are:

  • Lead and Manage a Team
  • Manage personal performance and development
  • Principles of team leading
  • Understand Business
  • Communicate work-related information.

Optional Units will be chosen from a variety of areas which may include:

  • Managing performance
  • Managing Conflict
  • Developing working relationships
  • Leading Meetings
  • General Business and Customer Service Knowledge

Learners will meet with their tutor (call or zoom) when starting this programme to look at the optional choices that will suit them best.

Level 3 Qualifications

These qualifications are aimed at those working in middle or lower management roles within a company, or those just starting on the Management ladder.

 

Level 3 Diploma in Management Principles

This qualification is an ideal starting point for those interested in taking on a Management Role in the workplace. Learners will complete 6 mandatory units which cover a number of elements essential to the role:

  • Principles of business.
  • Principles of leadership and management
  • Objective Setting and Communicating to Support Teams
  • Principles of people management
  • Managing Self Development.
  • Principles of Management Decision Making

This programme follows Assessment Route 1 and Learners will submit question and answer style assignments to complete it.

Level 3 Diploma in Management

This qualification is ideal for those just starting in a management role within their company, as this is an Assessment Route 2 programme, learners will need to be in a relevant workplace role. This programme will require the learner to complete 5 mandatory units and a number of optional choices. The 5 mandatory units are:

  • Manage team performance
  • Principles of business
  • Principles of leadership and management
  • Principles of people management
  • Manage personal and professional development

Optional Units will be chosen from a variety of areas which may include:

  • Managing performance
  • Managing Conflict and Risk
  • Planning and Development
  • Managing resources
  • Recruitment

Level 4-5 Qualifications

These qualifications are aimed at more experienced Managers who may have already worked for a number of years in a Management role within a company.

 

Level 4 Diploma in Management and Leadership

This qualification is ideal for those with some understanding of the role of a Manager and are looking to expand their knowledge. This programme will require the learner to complete 4 mandatory units and a number of optional choices. The 4 mandatory units are:

  • Principles of building respectful and productive working relationships in organisations
  • Principles of management and leadership in organisations
  • Operational and Human Resource Planning and Management
  • Managing personal and professional development

Optional Units will be chosen from a variety of areas which may include:

  • Business Performance and Improvement
  • Innovation and Change Managment
  • Organisational Structures, cultures and values
  • Budget management
  • Staff recruitment and selection

This programme follows Assessment Route 1 and Learners will submit written assignments to complete it. Learners will meet with their tutor (call or zoom) when starting this programme to look at the optional choices that will suit them best.

Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership

This qualification is ideal for those working in a management role within their company and as this is an Assessment Route 2 programme, learners will need to be already be in a relevant workplace role. This programme will require the learner to complete 3 mandatory units and a number of optional choices. The 3 mandatory units are:

  • Strategic Business Management and Planning
  • Strategic Decision-making
  • Principles of management and leadership

Optional Units will be chosen from a variety of areas which, amongst others,  include:

  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Corporate Communications
  • Risk Management
  • Corporate Project Management
  • Quality Managment in an Organisation
  • Principles of Business Finance
