Warehousing and Logistics Operations

These qualifications are available to those looking to enhance their professional development and improve their skills in the fields of Warehousing and Logistics

These courses start at Level 2 (generally aimed at those working in Logistics roles or those looking at starting in them) and moving onto  Level 3 (generally aimed at those more experienced in their role or in a Supervisor/Team Leader role)

We offer qualifications through two different assessment routes that enable students to enhance their knowledge and understanding of this subject area through the Levels list below.

Level 2 Qualifications

These qualifications are aimed at those working in various areas of Logistics, but not necessarily in a supervisory role. 

Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Warehousing and Storage

This qualification is an ideal starting point for those starting a new role within a Warehouse or for those looking to improve their knowledge of the Warehousing Environment. Learners will complete 5 Mandatory Units that cover a number of elements essential to the role and how complete the various tasks in a safe and productive manner, these units are:

  • Understand how to receive and store goods
  • Introduction to warehousing and storage
  • Understand how to check stock and update records in warehousing and storage
  • Understand how to process orders and prepare them for dispatch
  • Customer service in warehousing and storage

This programme follows Assessment Route 1 and Learners will submit question and answer style assignments to complete it.

Level 2 Certificate in Warehousing and Storage

This qualification is ideal for those just starting out in the Warehousing Industry, as this is an Assessment Route 2 programme, learners will need to be in a relevant workplace role. This programme will require the learner to complete 2 mandatory units and a number of optional choices. The 2 mandatory units are:

  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues in logistics operations
  • Health, Safety and Security at work

The optional choices cover different areas of working in a Warehouse Environment and these areas include:

  • Operating Equipment
  • Handling Goods
  • Picking, packing and assembling orders
  • Hygiene and Safety
  • Managing Stock Levels

Learners will meet with their tutor (call or zoom) when starting this programme to look at the optional choices that will suit them best.

Level 2 Certificate in Logistics Operations

This qualification is ideal for those just starting out in the Industry, as this is an Assessment Route 2 programme, learners will need to be in a relevant workplace role. This programme will require the learner to complete 4 mandatory units and a number of optional choices. The 4 mandatory units are:

  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues in logistics operations
  • Health, Safety and Security at work
  • Contribute to the provision of customer service in logistics operations
  • Make an effective contribution to a business in the logistics sector

The optional choices cover different areas of working in a Logistics Environment and these areas include:

  • Handling Goods
  • Picking, packing and assembling orders
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing vehicles
  • Ensuring that vehicles are loaded both correctly and safely
  • Preparing Goods Vehicles for use

Learners will meet with their tutor (call or zoom) when starting this programme to look at the optional choices that will suit them best.

Level 2 Certificate in International Trade and Logistics Operations

This qualification is ideal for those just starting out a Freight Fowarding Role, as this is an Assessment Route 2 programme, learners will need to be in a relevant workplace role. This programme will require the learner to complete 4 mandatory units and a number of optional choices. The 4 mandatory units are:

  • Health, Safety and Security at work
  • Contribute to effective working relationships in logistics environments
  • Select and recommend methods for transporting goods
  • Obtain information on goods being transported

The optional choices cover different areas of working in Freight Forwarding and these areas include:

  • Processing Documentation (Financial, Customs and Transport)
  • Arranging the transport of goods
  • Selection and use of the correct Transport Mode
  • Arranging Multi-Mode Transportation
  • Working with Service Providers

Learners will meet with their tutor (call or zoom) when starting this programme to look at the optional choices that will suit them best.

Level 2 Certificate in Logistics Support Operations

This qualification is ideal for those just starting out in a Logistics Role, as this is an Assessment Route 2 programme, learners will need to be in a relevant workplace role. This programme will require the learner to complete 4 mandatory units and a number of optional choices. The 4 mandatory units are:

  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues in logistics operations
  • Health, Safety and Security at work
  • Contribute to the provision of customer service in logistics operations
  • Make an effective contribution to a business in the logistics sector

The optional choices cover different areas of working in a Logistics Environment and these areas include:

  • Moving and Handling Goods
  • Use of Equipment
  • Preparation of Vehicles
  • Planning Deliveries and Routes
  • Loading and Unloading of Vehicles
  • Hygiene in Relation to Goods
  • Dealing with Hazardous Goods
  • Dealing with Customers and Payments

Level 3 Qualifications

These qualifications are aimed at those aspiring to work in Supervisor and Junior Management roles within Logistics and Warehousing.

Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Warehousing and Storage

This qualification is an ideal starting point for those with experience of working in a Warehouse and who are looking to step into a supervisory or more senior role. Learners will complete 6 Mandatory Units that cover a number of elements essential to the role and expand on their existing knowledge, these units are:

  • Principles of recycling and disposal in warehousing and storage
  • Environmental impact of the warehousing and storage operation
  • Principles of leadership in warehousing and storage
  • Principles of food safety supervision in logistics
  • Principles of receipt, storage and dispatch of goods
  • Principles of health, safety and security in the warehousing environment

This programme follows Assessment Route 1 and Learners will submit question and answer style assignments to complete it.

Level 3 Diploma in Warehousing and Storage

This qualification is ideal for those starting in a supervisory role within a Warehouse, as this is an Assessment Route 2 programme, learners will need to be in a relevant workplace role. This programme will require the learner to complete 4 mandatory units and a number of optional choices. The 4 mandatory units are:

  • Take responsibility for health, safety and security in your team
  • Provide leadership for your team in logistics operations
  • Contribute to the provision of customer service in logistics operations
  • Supervise the receipt, storage or dispatch of goods

The optional choices cover different areas of working in a Warehouse Environment and these areas include:

  • Building and Managing Team
  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Moving and Handling of Goods
  • Using Equipment
  • Warehousing and Team Administration
  • Performance Management
  • Managing the use of Vehicles

Learners will meet with their tutor (call or zoom) when starting this programme to look at the optional choices that will suit them best.

Level 3 Certificate in Logistics Operations

This qualification is ideal for those starting in a supervisory role within Logistics Environment, as this is an Assessment Route 2 programme, learners will need to be in a relevant workplace role. This programme will require the learner to complete 3 mandatory units and a number of optional choices. The 3 mandatory units are:

  • Health, Safety and Security at work
  • Optimise the use of logistics resources
  • Make an effective contribution to a business in the logistics sector

The optional choices cover different areas of working in a Warehouse Environment and these areas include:

  • Leading and Monitoring a Team
  • Improving Performance
  • Supervising the Receipt, Storage or dispatch of goods
  • Dealing with Hazardous goods
  • Minimising Environmental Impact
  • Arranging the Transport of goods
  • The use of Technology in Logistics
  • Ensuring Compliance with various regulations and requirements.
