Update on COVID-19 Response

As we enter the fourth and final quarter of 2020, we know that this year has been a challenging year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We know that the Logistics sector has faced some of the biggest challenges with an unprecedent rise in demand across the Supply Chain as companies and their staff worked hard to meet the increase in online orders, particularly at the beginning of the UK lockdown.

This article from Agility outlines four of the biggest challenges that the Logistics sector faces due to COVID-19.

At LLA, we are continuing to operate as usual and providing our normal service to students, graduates and those looking to join our Programmes. Having worked from home since March, we will soon be switching to Remote Working on a full-time basis. A full blog about these changes and what it means will be posted later this week.

October 2020 – Group Discount for UKWA Programmes

At LLA, we are proud to work with the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) and be the exclusive learning providers of the UKWA Warehouse Certification Programmes.

Since their introduction in 2016, the UKWA Programmes have helped to drive up standards and increase professionalism across the Warehouse sector, leading to advanced skills and improved capacity building across the Warehouse.

These courses are designed to be studied online through distance learning using our unique SCILplc learning system. There are three Programmes available to study:

  • UKWA Introduction to Warehousing and Logistics – for new employees joining the Warehouse sector for the first time
  • UKWA Warehouse Supervisor CPC – for Supervisors and Team Leaders and those aspiring to these roles
  • UKWA Warehouse Manager CPC – for those at Middle Management level and those aspiring to become a Manager

During October, we will be providing a special group discount for UKWA Members and non-Members. The discount will be applicable on all of the UKWA Programmes and will be available as follows:

  • For a group of 2-4 new students, a discount of 10% for the total course fees
  • For a group of 5-7 new students, a discount of 15% for the total course fees
  • For a group of 8 or more new students, a discount of 20% for the total course fees

Discount will be applied on the invoice sent by LLA or UKWA. This discount is available until Friday 30th October 2020.

Why You Should Multi-Skill Your Warehouse Team

In these challenging economic times, businesses need to have a team they can rely on. Having competent and productive staff members is a huge advantage when trying to steer through uncertainties.

The Logistics sector is well aware of the need for reliable team members, and this is especially important in Warehousing. One of the main ways to improve the performance of your Warehousing team is through Multi-Skilling; a talent that can prove to be very beneficial and effective in the workplace.

In this video we take a closer look at what Multi-Skilling is, what the benefits are for employers and employees and how LLA can help your team become Multi-Skilled.

COMING SOON – Build Your Qualification

During Autumn 2020, we will be launching our new initiative called Build Your Qualification which will be an alternative to paying for our Commercial Logistics qualifications in full.

Build Your Qualification will allow students to gradually complete modules that can be moulded into a formal CILT or IoSCM Qualification at Levels 2, 3 and 5. This will act as an alternate route to the Commercial Qualification students want, paying for and completing units as LLA Certified Online Short Courses and converting them into a Full Regulated Qualification.

Students will be able to learn at their own pace, with two years to complete and convert the units required. It will be an ideal option for those who want to spread the cost, allowing students to pay for each LLA Short Course individually and build towards a Full Regulated Qualification.

Build Your Qualification will replace the current instalment options we provide for our CILT and IoSCM Qualifications. Upon completion of the chosen route, these LLA Short Courses can be converted into a Regulated Qualification by paying the required administration fee. Please contact us directly for pricing details.
