Welcome to the first LLA newsletter of 2021.

Update on COVID-19 Response

Firstly, as we did throughout 2020, we would like to begin with a quick update on how we are responding to the COVID-19 situation.

As we confirmed last year, LLA has now permanently moved away from a physical office to a virtual one. The benefits of our move are highlighted on our blog here. Although we are still in lockdown here in the UK, our earlier move to remote working means that our day-to-day work is unaffected. LLA’s International Business Developer, Haydn Sandvig, has been volunteering and assisting with the vaccination efforts here in the UK.

As we continue to move towards a new form of normality slowly but surely, we know that the situation remains challenging, with new variants and spikes in infection rates around the world. We are also aware that the vaccination effort in many parts of the world remains complex, with Humanitarians and organisations all too aware of the challenges faced during large projects like this and in reaching areas that can often be hard to reach.

As we enter this next, crucial stage of the battle against COVID, we look forward to continuing to work with those who are assisting on the frontline and to continue to develop the skills of those playing a vital role in this effort.

The A-Z of Supply Chain

During 2020 and 2021, we were working on a new project called ‘The A-Z of Supply Chain’, a weekly series exploring the different functions that make a global Supply Chain work effectively.

It was a fascinating project to work on. We have combined all of the information pieces into one video – we hope you enjoy watching it!

Latest Feedback from Students

We were delighted to receive this testimonial from Dut Machär, who works for International Committee of the Red Cross – ICRC and graduated from the Certification in Humanitarian Logistics (CHL) Programme in 2019. Thank you Dut!

Congratulations to new LLA Graduates

Congratulations to all those who graduated from LLA Programmes between January and March 2021!
