Update on COVID-19 Response
In our previous newsletter, we provided an update on how LLA is responding to the current COVID-19 pandemic. There is currently no change to how we are operating – we are continuing to work from home and continuing to provide a full and comprehensive service to our students and those looking to study with us.
As we enter the next stage of the response to the pandemic, we would stress that the virus remains present – it is important that everyone continues to follow the health and safety guidelines and continues to maintain recommended steps, such as Social Distancing and Self-Isolation where appropriate, to help combat this pandemic.
We would also like to take this opportunity to reiterate our thanks and appreciation to all those who are working in the response to this virus, including those working for NGOs and other humanitarian organisations who continue to provide a vital service to those most in need.
Further changes to Humanitarian Essentials Logistics Module (HELM) Events in Africa
As Africa continues to battle against COVID-19, we have followed the health and safety advice and continued to make further changes to our planned schedule for our face-to-face HELM Events. We will continue to monitor the current situation and will update our LLA Events page with more information as we get it.
We know how important these events are to all those attend them and we hope to be able to proceed with our schedule as planned.

GBP100.00 discount for Certification in Humanitarian Logistics (CHL) Programme until 31st July 2020
From Monday 29th June 2020, we are offering a discount of GBP100.00 for the Fritz Institute-CILT Certification in Humanitarian Logistics (CHL) for all new students who pay on or before Friday 31st July 2020.
Based on the Sphere standards, CHL is aimed at people who work (or aspire to work) within humanitarian aid organisations in (or interacting with) supply functions, typically involving Warehousing, Transport, Inventory and Cash Transfer Programming.
First launched in 2006, CHL remains our most popular Humanitarian Certification with well over 1,000 graduates. There has never been a better time to join the growing network of Certified Logisticians who are using their skills to improve efficiency and capacity within the humanitarian sector.

IoSCM Programmes Launched
In our previous newsletter, we informed you that we are now a Delivery Partner with the Institute of Supply Chain Management (IoSCM). We can confirm that we have now launched the IoSCM Level 3 in Supply Chain Operations and Level 5 Diploma in Supply Chain and Operations Management and are now accepting registrations. More information about these Programmes can be found on our IoSCM Qualifications page.
For those studying in Development Areas, including some parts of Africa and Asia, we can offer the courses for a lower fee – please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
New Course Coming August 2020
The IoSCM qualifications aren’t the only new courses we have been working to create! We have been hard at work putting together a brand new course called the LLA Supply Chain Practitioner Diploma, which will be available in August 2020.
This programme will be for individuals working in supply chain and logistics roles who want to develop their knowledge and understanding of the whole supply chain and all the contributing functions and demonstrate their competence to meet day to day procedures and operations in a safe and informed manner.
This online Diploma consists of 13 mandatory units with an assignment for each unit. These units are: 1. Logistics, 2. Supply Chain, 3.Key Performance Indicators, 4. Legislation, Policies, and Procedures, 5. Needs of Different Customers, 6. Information Technology, 7. Continuous Improvement, 8. New Products & Costing, 9. Capacity Planning, 10. Procurement, 11. Forecasting, 12. Manufacturing, 13. Customer Service
Knowledge, skill and competency is demonstrated through practical worked based scenarios set in SCILplc our on-line fictitious supply chain manufacturing and warehousing company.
